Marcell (population 408) is in the heart of lake country, located on Highway 38 in the north-central part of Itasca County. A township of 56 square miles, it contains all or part of 48 lakes. Tourism is Marcell’s biggest industry and the population swells during the summer. Marcell is home to a Family Center which includes a gymnasium and new fitness center, meeting room and kitchen. It is part of the “Edge of the Wilderness” joint powers agreement.

Recreation: Marcell Recreation Area, paved walking trail, tennis, softball, volleyball, playground, basketball, rink for hockey and skating, information kiosk; snowmobile trails, including Marcell Trail North, Marcell Trail South, and Bowstring Trail west.
Civic Monuments: “Edge of the Wilderness National Scenic Byway” interpretive panels.
Festivals and Events: 47-mile long garage sale in September.
